DIALYSIS PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN
HIGH DEMAND TRAINING
Our Dialysis Patient Care Technician(D-PCT) program is 40 weeks in length, allowing you to finish in just under 10 months. 8 months in class, 2 months in the clinic. Our program is designed to provide you with all the necessary training to succeed in your new career.
Classes are Monday through Friday in two convenient schedules:
Morning Session: 9am – 1pm
Evening Session: 6pm – 10pm
FOUR AREAS OF STUDY
The D-PCT trains in all aspects of a normal patient care technician but is further enhanced by hemodialysis training. The program will prepare you in the following:
- ECG Techniques
- Blood Draws & Venipuncture
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Board Certified CHT
ELECTROCARDIOGRAM
ECG TECHNIQUES
Did you know that the main cause of death for renal patients is heart failure? Learning to take and read an ECG is crucial for the PCT to prevent heart complications that are commonplace in a dialysis setting
You will learn to set a 12-lead ECG machine on a patient and take accurate readings of the heart’s electronic rhythm and distinguish irregular patterns
PHLEBOTOMY
BLOOD DRAWS & VENIPUNCTURE

PATIENT CARE
CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT
All our PCTs train to become Certified Nursing Assistants to ensure that they’re well versed in patient care, which is crucial for delicate dialysis patients. Identifying the needs of those who don’t have their normal capacities makes all the difference.
Once licensed, you will be able to enter the clinical atmosphere and put everything you have learned into practice at one of our clinics.
HEMODIALYSIS
BOARD CERTIFIED CHT
Hemodialysis, the life-saving technology that has helped millions of people keep their lives. This technology, while advanced, is not without its expertise. As you complete your program, you will be prepared to become a board Certified Hemodialysis Technician. This is the next level.
Training in cannulation techniques, hemodialysis machine operation and management, water treatment, dialysate mixing, and renal function are just a few of the areas that are taught, engaging in the theory and exercising the practical.
PROGRAM COST
PROGRAM COSTS
We pride in providing quality education at an affordable cost. Our institution holds full national accreditation through ACCSC. Through these efforts we are able to provide students significant financial aid to those who qualify.
After researching various schools, nothing offered what GMTTI offered. Other schools were charging up to $15,000 for their dialysis program and didn’t offer half of what this school provided.
Tuition Fee: $9,100
This covers the cost of your time in class. Our 900 hour program is divided into two semesters at 450 hours each.
Books & Supplies: $450.00
We work in a largely digital format. This fee covers your tablet that will hold all your digital content as well as the cost of that digital content, including digital books, subscriptions, and other software you will use throughout the course

EXTERNSHIP
THE EXTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
All students must complete 160 hours of clinical practice upon completion of classroom instruction.
During the externship students will practice applying techniques learned in the classroom with actual patients under the supervision of their preceptor. Students have the opportunity to gain clinical experience necessary to land a great employment opportunity.
DaVita & ARC
Global Medical & Technical Training Institute has agreements with two major dialysis clinics to provide externship opportunities for students that have high employment possibilities.
DaVita
DaVita
DaVita is one of the largest dialysis providers in the world with clinics across the globe. They provide a unique opportunity for students to learn the “DaVita way”. Students are interviewed and placed in one of the many clinics across South Florida.
ARC
ARC
ARC is one of the fastest growing dialysis clinics in Florida and we are proud to be able to have our students participate in the growth of this company. Their state-of-the-art clinics provide a great environment for both students and patients. Their rapid growth has led for great demand for PCTs, with many students being able to transition to a compensatory position after externship completion.
